Every day is Taco Tuesday! An app designed for ordering tacos from a fictitious local taco chain. Our primary focus was on providing two paths for ordering . First, the ability to order specialty tacos, burritos, and nachos, that could be customized if desired. The second being a fully custom “build your own” option. We wanted the overall experience to be fun and accessible, and our branding reflects that personality.

Taco Tuesday two main screens, the delivery map with the Taco Tuesday logo with an address search on the left. On the right a phone mock-up of the app showing the restaurant menu screen.

Sketches & Branding

App sketches, on the right paper in notebook, on the left branding notes on a screen.

Animator and Illustrator Sara Mapes and I collaborated over a series of live streams on Behance. Sara focused on art assets, while I worked simultaneously in Adobe XD on the design and prototyping. We used co-editing in XD so as Sara finished, she could drop her assets into my file to use.

Taco Tuesday branding, all of the fonts, notes, header sizes, menu item, icons for the ingredients, common UI elements in the center along with map styles. On the far right logo variation of the taco mascot, and artwork for the app below.

Prototype

Since this was meant to be an MVP, we focused on the primary functionality, the delivery service user flow, to showcase via prototyping. The video below shows the prototype in action.
