Sketches & Research
The LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland reached out to me regarding designs for merchandise for their Pride in the CLE event in early June. I was ecstatic they’d consider me for the opportunity, and immediately set to work dreaming up concepts that would pay respect to Cleveland and the community. During my research, I was struck by how the Hope Memorial Bridge Guardians of Traffic from the side could form the shapes of a rainbow.

Final Art
I worked through the designs live on Behance. Input I received from the community was valuable in determining the text style and layout. Lauren from the Center also joined in the chat which was awesome! The final designs used the negative space within the rainbow to define the shapes of the statues as a metaphor for the LGBTQ+ community being an integral part of defining the Greater Cleveland community.
