This illustration was created as a multi-part series of live streams depicting my process for creating isometric art in Adobe Illustrator. On the first day, I went over three different methods for making this style of art: drawing an isometric grid using guides, creating actions for the scale-shear-rotate method, and finally, using the 3D effect tools. I started by blocking out the various floating islands, wrote out a list of the various elements I wanted to add to the scene, and then sketched out their approximate placement overtop of the blocks in Illustrator. I then fleshed out those elements and added various details until the illustration felt complete.
