The first album cover I created for Yoann Turpin was for his Chipsong Book Volume 10, and so when it came time to release Chipsong Book Volume 11, I was excited Yoann was interested in working together once again almost a year after I worked on the art for Volume 10. I didn’t originally set out to do another landscape, I wanted some spring and summer vibes with a warm color palette for this one. I really wanted to explore colors outside of my usual color palette. I started out with a loose composition set up using guides and a color palette in mind.

I shared my process creating the illustration live on Behance over two days. A majority of the composition and illustration work was done during the two live streams, with details and the text added later to finish the illustration. The cube city effect sort of grew out of the process and everyone really loved the style so we ran with it instead of my original plan to create a sort of 8-bit style design and I think it was the right choice.

Be sure to check out ChipSong Book Volume 11! If you enjoy the tunes that play during my livestreams you’ll be sure to love it! As a bonus, there’s a special song dedicated to one of the moderators in the chat, see if you can spot it!
