This was a unique album Yoann Turpin asked for my help creating art for in January 2025. It wasn’t a part of a series, and the look and feel he was after was really abstract. The composition relies mostly on stylized type to tell the story. I really appreciate that he’s always testing me with new ideas, themes, styles, and imagery he has in his head for these projects.

Yoann’s Sketch
As he sometimes does, he sent a sketch of the idea in his head, as well as a preview of the music. I wasn’t entirely sure what all of the elements in the sketch should be so I had to make some decisions to create a cohesive story. I decided that the linework on the “M” and “O” should represent the sun and moon, and the framing on the album title should match the type and all be gold beveled type. The tower wasn’t in his sketch, but I thought it worked with the concept, and helped create a leading line from the bottom to the title.
