Another illustration to celebrate the 2023 Lunar New Year, this time the year of the Water Rabbit. I worked on this project during several live streams which you can find below if you want to see the full process. This one involved quite a bit of sketching and planning to figure out how to incorporate the water with the rabbit. I ended up making it a surfing rabbit which worked well with the mooncake sun to contain everything. The Year of the Rabbit represents longevity and peace.

Lots of different poses and concepts. I did a poll on the live stream to figure out which options the chat liked the best, and the surfing option seemed to not only be the favorite, but looking back is the design with the most personality, even in the sketch phase.
Color Palettes
Lots of bright colors, I wanted the design to feel positive, but also peaceful.
